Mun-Leng commenced her career in private legal practice, co-founding a tutoring school for law students. Most of her experience in the last 23 years has been at the managerial level in law, general insurance, self-insurance, workers' compensation schemes and insurance broking in the corporate environment in Australia, as well as in some international jurisdictions.
